Jessica Kulpit has zealously advocated for her clients throughout Western New York including the counties of Erie, Niagara, Genesee, and Chautauqua. She is admitted to practice in both State and Federal Courts. Handling each case personally, she is with her clients every step of the way.
Jessica Kulpit is a life long resident of Western New York and graduated from University at Buffalo with degrees in English and Political Science. After finishing a college internship with Legal Aid’s Criminal Defense Unit, her desire to advocate for those charged with crimes led her to continue her studies at the University at Buffalo Law School. Her advocacy skills stood out and she traveled nationally as part of the school’s competition Trial Teams.
Jessica has handled thousands of criminal cases. From speeding tickets to homicides, she is a tenacious and zealous advocate ensuring the rights of her clients at every stage of their case. In addition to her busy criminal practice, Jessica also serves as a mentor through the assigned counsel program, assisting newer lawyers handling criminal cases.
Jessica is active in the legal community. Currently she participates as a member of the Erie County Indigent Defense Working Group, a board member of the Amherst Drug Court Therapeutic Foundation, Center for Elder Law and Justice, NYSACDL, Committee on Grievances – Bar Association of Erie County and the DVSJA statewide task force. She previously served as on the board of Northtowns Boys and Girls Club, Damien College Paralegal Program & the Trinity Food Pantry. She volunteers, working with students at the University at Buffalo Law School’s Trial Teams. Jessica is regularly a guest lecturer at UB Law, UB undergraduate and Damien College. She serves a mentor through the U-CAN program. Her present legal memberships include the Erie County Bar Association (previously participating in the Judiciary and Criminal Law Committees), the Women’s Bar Association, the Assigned Counsel Panel and the New York State Defender's Association.
Jessica's success in her field has been recognized through her achievements as a two-time recipient of the Erie County Award for Excellence in Criminal Defense; 2017, 2021. She has been recognized across the state as a Super Lawyer every year in the field of criminal defense from 2017 to present.
